I have Codegen PSU 350W and it got 4 molex connectors only 1 large for motherboard and 1 for Intel CPU and 1 for floppy.

I got 2 HDD's, 1 CD-RW, Video Card that uses power from psu, and 1 Cooler.
There is 2 wires with 2 molex on each, one of them have floppy connector on end i use it for my hdd's and floppy, next one goes into video card and into CD-RW.

On which molex i should connect my (powerfull) cooler. I used to have it on same molex as second HDD and had BSOD few times, dont know if it was related tho. Wont it cause bad burns if it will be on my cd-rom molex connector?

Also is there difference if i connect it to middle or end connector that is on same wire, i mean wont end connector (cd-rw) get less power if i put it on middle?

I Googled, review Codegen 350watt PSU.
3.3V@20A=OK
5V@30A=OK
12V@12A=needs 8 to 10 more amps, for a total of atleast 20A.

You are asking for trouble by adding more Molex connectors to this unit.
I would suggest up-rating your PSU. A 450watt Fortron for $49@Newegg.

Hashimoto I had the same problem....
Not enough amps on my 12v rail....

as GY stated...
12V@12A=needs 8 to 10 more amps, for a total of atleast 20A.

Sorry to break the news to you but its time for a different PSU...
for a rock solid PSU thats not a budget buster I would go with this Fortron...
no bling bling..just solid quality!!

As labeling says it got 16A on 12V line , but yeah defenetly i upgrade, but later, no money @ moment.
I had 300w codegen prior to that and it died so this one is very cheap emerency replacement cost me like 20$ or less.
So for now can someone answer is there any difference, if i connect powerfull cooler to middle molex connector, same that my GPU is sucking power off , or if i connect it to the molex on the end where cd-rom is? Considering i want more power on my video card.

I for onr would never connect something else to the connector that my GPU is running off of...but i would say that there are those who would say it won`t hurt anything!!

I really don`t have those issues with my PSU!!

Yeah me to, but i dont know electronic and next molex connector is just 4-5 inches of wire away dunno if there is really difference if it will be 1 inch away or 5 inches away on same wire.

?Powerful cooler? Means nothing to me. I will guess a 12 watt fan.

No, it will make no difference because all 12V draw comes from the same source and voltage drop will effect the whole line.

This review of your 350 watt unit says 12V@12A. On the next page of this linked review is a pic on the PSU's label it states the same. Plus this unit maybe rated at 25C and by the time it gets to 35C output will fall 30%. Do the math.

Many, if not most new builders consider the PSU as an after thought or a bit of lighted carnival ride. The PSU is the single most important piece of hardware inside any case. The spec on your unit would indicate that it is for an E-machine.

You could take the Fortron AX400-PN as well, instead of the 450W version... It'll save you ten bucks ($ 39.99)...

I can take anything if you gona pay for it m8 :)

As i told its 16A and i dont know @ wich temp its rated.

GalvanizedYankee i dont wanna measure dicks comparing hardware, but my this psu got plenty of power, to power up 2 hdds, radeon 9800 pro and 2 system coolers, considering it cost me 20 buks, and that it was emerency replace.
New psu is not in my upgrade list right so forget it ok?

Ye i understand that both wires that hold molex for 12v come from same rail, but it wasnt question... I asked is there ANY reason not to connect 2 devices on same molex e.g. cooler and hdd?

You got my answer. It does not matter.

I have never contested about E-dicks with anyone ever on this board.

I have two Fortron 400 watt units in service. One is heading into it's 5th year.

LOL :p Just a proposal...

If you're only talking about connecting a fan and a hard disk to one strand of your PSU, then you should be fine... Two hard disks or two optical disks could cause instability however...

The question was about problem of FAN connected on molex with HDD, is there any problem in this situation if i had 600W PSU?

To people advising me to buy new PSU, my system is very stable i dont have any problem voletage on 12v line is specification limits never runs up or down so forget it.

I would say your labeling is wrong..based on research i have done on yourPSU....

3.3v -20amps 5.0v - 30amps 12v - 12amps

but really all that matters in the end is that you are happy camper..hehe

No i think it may be because of cooler connected to same molex as hdd but it may be something else like software conflict. could be just coincedence.

Back in half year when i was looking @ codegen homepage there was different versions of 350W PSU's, my model is to 300X, model of psu on your link is 350X, this is different psu's, there is also 200X that have 16A on 12V rail, and all this models are 350W Codegen PSU's.
