Hi everyone. 1st time here and 1st post. I'm having some issues with my new build. I've had it for 3 months.
Specs are;
Gigabyte 970a-d3p Mobo
Amd Fx 4130 3.8 quad
Corsair Vengeance 8gb
Apevia 750w psu
Wd 320gb Hdd
Asus Radeon HD 7850 2gb

The problem i'm having is that when I hit the power button to turn on computer only my psu lights up and fan is running. My gpu power light is green. But that fan doesn't run either. No fans power on. Gpu fan doesn't budge. Neither does the fans directly connected to the psu. While the psu is on. When I try holding the power button to turn it off. I get nothing. Usually having to hit the psu main switch. When I 1st got home yesterday I thought it might've been in sleep mode like usual. But when I clicked the mouse or keyboard nothing happened.

I've talked to Gigabyte to get some tips on what I can do to verify if its the mobo, psu or anything else. He mentioned usually if its not powering down even with nothing running that it can be a bad processor. I just can't seem to trust that. I've tried unplugging all non essentials and powering on. I get same result. I have a friend borrowing a computer so I will be able to test this psu on that computer and also vice versa. Any other tips I can get from you guys would be great. Also my mouse lights up. 😛

Btw if there are any other specs you need. Let me know and i'll try my best to post them.

Note I'm not getting any beeps from the computer. I've disconnected both 4pin and 24 pin power and same results.

I did some looking and found this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo

I don't know if this is your particular power supply, but look at the feedback. And this was pretty much the same or worse across every model I looked at - it either lasts a short amount of time if it doesn't fail out of the box.

The issues you are reporting really does sound like a failing/failed power supply. Do you have another to swap it with?

When you see a PSU that is way cheaper than the other brands, STAY AWAY. Is it too later for the place you purchased it from to give you a refund?

I didn't even think about checking out the reviews on newegg. Thanks for mentioning that. I'm snagging my older computer from my friend and i'll try that psu. Hopefully thats the case.

you mention none of the fans turn on... but what about the PSU Fan itself?

can try... disconnect it from everything accept an case fan that can connect directly to the PSU Molex connector. and jumper the Green to a Black pin on the ATX connector of the PSU with a paper clip. And turn it on while connected to nothing but the fan and the paperclip.

the fan should power on, and it won't turn off on its own till you hit the PSU switch or remove the paperclip.

Sorry for the late response. Also thanks Jolancer for your input. I have some fans that are directly connected to the psu that weren't starting either.

On the plus side. I was able to get my other psu to try. Once I plugged in the 6pin and 24pin power to the mobo. All fans including cpu fan starting with no issues. So it's safe to assume that with the responses on newegg and my problem are indeed the same. If not once i get the RMA on this psu. I'll switch it out and post back with a follow up.
