I have this motherboard
http://us.dfi.com.tw/Product/x...TEGORY_TYPE=LP&SITE=US

and this PSU
http://www.svc.com/rp-550-pcar.html

The PSU box has a picture and says "20+4 pin" and it shows the 20 pin with the 4 right beside it, as if it is connected...so I just put these two beside each other and use it to power the mobo?

Also, on that mobo I have linked, my graphics card is too long or something b/c it barely touches the 'fan' thingy behind it --wtf is up with that? Why'd they put that there?

Like this? http://images10.newegg.com/New...mage/17-171-018-06.jpg If so, then yes. It's hard to tell in that picture, but a lot of times these "20+4" connectors actually slide together to make one big 24 pin plug.

Does the card actually make contact with the heatsink/fan, or is it just really close? If it's just close then it's nothing to worry about. If it actually touches it, I could see how that would not be preferable but I don't imagine that it would be a problem unless it interfered with the fan somehow. The south bridge cooler should really be designed with clearance for a video card in mind.

yes it does make very slight contact that can stop the fan. I can move it just a TINY bit to get it not to touch but not sure if it will stay
