PSU makes strange sound

Hello all
I recently bought a Cooler master V1200 PSU and i noticed that it makes a strange short sound (1 second duration) on startup and sometimes during use, i think its occurs when the fan starts, i took the psu outside the case and tested it in different orientations and it makes this sound only when the fan is facing down.
can the fan be the cause or is it something else.
any help would be appreciated.

If it only makes the noise in a certain orientation, it's definitely the fan. There are no other moving parts that could be affected by orientation. Hard to say anything else without actually hearing the noise or a description of what it sounds like. "Strange" is not very descriptive, it could mean anything
