PSU in another country

One of my friends is going to Thailand for 3 months. A company is actually paying for all shipping and of course airfare, living expenses, etc. He is going to ship his computer over there. He said he has a standard ATX power supply and asked if I knew if he can just plug his normal power cable into their power grid and into the power supply and expect the computer to work properly. Anyone have any idea, and if it isnt that simple, what he would need?

Depends on what PSU he has. Most if not all will support both 120VAC and 240VAC. Its a matter of if it does the switch automaticly or if you have to flip a switch. Of course he will need to purchace a power cable that has the correct plug for the outlets there in Thailand.

Surely his PSU will support the 240v AC thailand uses. He'll just have to buy a plug adapter when he gets there and sees what socket he's dealing with.
