I have a problem i cant seem to figure out. I recently got new parts to build a nice little unraid server for myself and also a new htpc for the bedroom.
The server is where i am having problems though. It is a Biostar TA785G3 mobo with amd sempron 140 cpu. Nothing fancy. The PSU is a Corsair CX430. The problem is the Corsair will not turn on the pc. In fact it lets out a bit of a high pitched "squeel" when just plugged in. It also doesnt power up the fans or anything.
What is weird though is i plugged in the same Corsair to my new htpc (well just the cpu and 24 pin) and it turned the htpc on (i3- sandy bridge and asrock H67M-ITX mobo). So i know the psu itself works.
As for the server motherboard and eveything....i pulled my old backup Logisys 500W (ish) PSU and plugged it into the biostar mobo and it powers up. Was able to play with unraid a bit but since this isnt the psu i want to use i didnt do much (and its loud as well).
So why wont the corsair work in the server (biostar mobo)? All the plugs seem to be in the same positions via visual inspection (logisys vs corsair at least).
I cant just switch the corsair for the htpc as that uses a picopsu in the case either.
