PSU Help. Whats enough for my system?

I dont want to get a 600w PSU thinking more is better. Years of computer hobby tought me at least so much.

CPU; AMD64 3000+ OC to 2.3-2.6Ghz.
Optical; Single DVD
Video Card; X1900XT PCIe 256
Hard drive; 2x 120GB Samsung in raid 0 and 1x 80GB single drive.
2x 80mm fans, several lights and such that shouldent add up to much. Im looking for maybe a 50-100 W overhead I can play in. Or whatever you find is wiser. Looking to be under $100 PSU of the best quality per W.

Thanks

400 is enough, but then you wanted 50-100W overhead to play with, so I linked the 500 as well. I'd just get the 500W 'cause it's well within your budget and gives you a peace of mind.

Enhance is the best bargain ATM. I bought Sister a ENP-5140GH to replace her 6 year old Fortron. The only draw back...It only has 4x4 pin Molex connectors. Not a big deal because she has two SATA drives. So if you go for it, order Y-connectors with it if you need more than 4 Molex connectors.

...Galvanized

Forgot to mention that this is a mid upgrade to CD2 when I can find the cash for a CPU, a good Mobo and to replace my 2gb of ram. Till then I just want at least a v-card to brute force preformance in games.

380 watt Seasonic S12; enough for just about any single CPU/GPU, non-extreme overclocked system you could put together.

Instead of calculating watts, calculate the amps.

Let CPU + MB = 15A with partial overclocking
Let GPU = 12A
all this on 12v lines

even optical drives etc are on 12v lines

ensure you have 30-35A continous for 12Va, not 12V1+12V2, but actualt 12V

You're a flaming idiot.

CPU + Motherboard drawing 180W? Only a dual core Prescott can get anywhere near that.
GPU = 144W? Closer, you're only 20W over on that.

Since Crossfired 6800EE computers have trouble drawing 350W+ from the PSU and you think a single core A64 and single X1900XT is going to do it?

I'm a fully carded seasonic fan, as such i'd be looking at the 380W or 430W S12s. Enermax are another one of my favourites 400W from them. The enhance linked earlier is a steal but it's not what i'm after in a PSU (low noise).
