PSU has a 6 pin pci -e conenctor ?

my PSU has a 6 pin connector that says pci-e on it is this for the graphics card ?

It's for a PCI Express graphics card should your card need it.

I had a question about this too. Does this work for all PCIe graphics card? I have a 400watt Coolmax PSU that has the 6pin power connector on it. I got my new 7900GT and hooked it up with this connector and nothing happened... The computer booted up, but no graphics were on the screen. I could hear the harddrive booting than the memory test beeps, but nothing was displayed on the screen. I then disconnected this wire and used the 4PIN Molex Y adapter to hook up the graphics card and everything worked fine. Am I doing something wrong with the 6pin cable?
