Atm using a xigmatek 600w 85% efficiency nrp-pc602 ( i did post a different psu on first post, beQuiet 750w 80 bronze). Since I oc my 2600k to 4.5 I don't see this holding with sli. So I was thinking to buy a new psu.

Was thinking of the ax860 but then I read about coil whinnes from it and all seasonic manufactured psu's. Since the ax860i has fan issues too and that I have read that corsair delivers since mid May new batch of ax860, wanted to know if this is true or just a guy who trolled on a post.

Yes if it is possible I wanted to buy a corsair psu.

Btw hope the 850w is enought.

Thanks

A good 750w unit is enough for two high end GPUs and an overclocked CPU.
Peak power consumption in Guru3D's review for the whole system was 505W: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_770_sli_review,4.html (CPU not stressed, only GPUs)

GeForce GTX 770 2x SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 700~800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

What's your PSU's model number? Can't find a 750W bronze from BeQuiet.

@lehtv don't slap me. I am a slacker, I had bought a cheaper one to save money and forgot it.

Ok I tried the sli and it did work even played bf3 for 15min. But since the first card was getting to hot I removed it. And after that I searched the house for the purchase of the psu , sorry my mistake nrp-pc602 xigmatek a 600w psu with 85% efficiency.
The one card is smelling to much, as it would plastic burn aka wires. Not sure what it is but it is going back.

Thanks for the reply.

P.S. none has issues with the corsair ax860 coil whine?

Yep big difference between a Xigmatec 600watt and BeQuiet 750watt, agree with lehtv on getting the HX.

So you went all out and got pretty much the most expensive 850w unit on the market? Why do you even ask for advice if you're just going to get the highest end unit anyway?

Because you can ask and learn but at end the decisions are yours. If you get a bad item you will not blame the guy who advice it you will blame yourself.

But I had made my mind to buy a ax 860 but then I had concerns about coil whine. The I version is made from different manufacturer for corsair where the only concern is the hickup on start of the fan after idle state. So if I had a answer like corsair got coil whine under control on the latest units of the ax860 I would go for the non i version.

I am allways regreting when I buy a item over the one I had my mind on. At end I will buy the other and I will have spend more money, that I don't have to waste.

Waste for me is a item that you buy and you don't like it.

I can change my mind on items that are suggested and will like them, see enermax platimax 850, nrp 800. I do like those. But platimax was 20 euro higher priced then the ax860i and the nrp is 800w I wanted a 850 or 900.

Sorry if you think I wasted your time.

Thanks for the suggestion.

P.S. Btw I was thinking that I may could/can monitor my h800 throughout the ax860i. One more reason for it. H80 may be going for rma since she makes a noise that is loud as the normal profile for the fans.
