Here is the rig I am setting up.

Q6600 - G0
Thermalright U-120 Ex
Scythe SFF21F 1600RPM
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
Ballistix 2 sets 2x1GB (4GB total)
Sapphire X1950 Pro 256MB
WD 5000AAKS

I want to try to OC the hell out of this thing. My question comes in the PSU/Case combo. Newegg is currently has the Antec NeoHE 550W for $100 with a $45 MIR, which seems to be enough power for me, even with oc. Does this seem accurate?

Also, does anyone have an opinion on the NeoHE in general. I have seen various reviews, saying completely opposite things. A lot say it is a great PSU, but then some say to avoid it like the plague. Anyone here have any experience with them?

I don't want to take a risk with a PSU, obviously, but this seems like a great deal and I have always have success with Antec previously, but the negative reviews have me slightly worried.

Any comments would be helpful.

Why are you bothering with the NeoHE 550 if you are finding such conflicting reviews?

There are plenty of quality PS to pick from.

I was checking through the lists of quality PSU's on this site, as well as links from this site, and a lot seem to have a high amount of respect for the NeoHE 550. The majority of negative reviews seem to less well-researched, but they still raise doubts in my mind. That fact, combined with the great price right now, leads me to want to get it, but I just want to try to quell my doubts. If no one seems to have one, or no one has any experience with them, I will look at others, like the HX520. But, that is twice the price with the $45 MIR on the NeoHE.

As an example of places that rate it highly.

So, can anyone ease my concerns?

If I may offer two alternatives:
Corsair HX520w
Corsair HX620w

The 520w will do the job but I usually suggest the 620w for future upgrades(like video cards). The 520w can be easily found for under $100 nowadays. I saw one listed for $86 earlier today online. Superior quality compared to Antec IMHO.

Thanks everyone. After seeing recent reviews, I'm going to go with the Corsair VX-550. Seems like a perfect combination of everything for me.
