Anyone here still using the 2 X 4 to 6 molex adapter with their 280 + PSU?

I read that using the adapter is a temporary fix.

I have a 700w PSU, and I've run nVidia's flagship since June without issue.

Do I have to get a new PSU, or can I continue to use the adapter?

Anyone here (sorry to repeat) using their adapters still?

Cheers.

What PSU do you have? Did it not have any PCI-E connectors at all?

I certainly wouldn't do a Molex to 6 Pin-PCI-E then to 8 Pin connection..

Thanks for your response; sorry I wasn't very concise.

I have an OCZ 700w. It has 2 6 Pin-PCI-E connectors, which both go into the 8 Pin adapter which plugs into the card, and I use an adapter for 2 molex connectors into one 6 Pin-PCI-E adapter, which also goes into the card.

EVGA states that they do not recommend using this setup for long, though everything has been running smooth since I got the new card.

Are there risks if I continue with this setup, or is it OK to continue?

Looks like you have the same PSU as me, mate.

That makes me feel alot better. Thanks for the response.

Do me a favor, though, if you can think of it; if you ever have any problems with your 280/PSU, please drop me a PM.

Cheers.
