I just recently replaced my video card and got a 8800 GTS. I got it loaded in the system and when I boot up nothing apears on the screen. I am suspect of the power supply, the current power supply is 400 watts with 18amps on 12v1 and 18amps on 12v2, is that enough juice for the video card? The minimum requirements on the 8800 GTS is 26amps on the 12v rail. If I need a new PSU please give me some suggestions! THANKS!

What brand of PSU? The 26A suggestion is not for the videocard alone, it is for the entire system. Did you plug in a PCI-E power connector into the card? If your PSU doesn't have one you can get an adapter to make 2 molex connectors into a single PCI-E connector. Does your PC power on and nothing appears on screen, or does it power on and then power off?

The power supply is FSP Group. The video card came with a PCI-E power connector which I plugged into the card and 2 molex connections to the PSU. When I power it on nothing appears on the screen. The monitor acts as though the computer is on hibernation mode. The monitor doesnt give the message it doesnt have a signal. Thanks so much for your help and ideas!

have you tried putting your old card back in and seeing if it works? What was your old card?

I have given my old card away therefore I am unable to try it. It was a ATI 800 XT 256mb. Everything was running smoothly prior to the new video card install. Are thinking the PSU has enough juice? Thanks

did you make sure to use a driver cleaner to wipe the ATI driver away? I think the PSU should have enough juice to at least show your desktop, if not game....

This site has a download link and a guide on how to use it, not sure how you can do this if you have no video though, does your motherboard have onboard video?

Isn't necessarily your problem, but it might be. Hopefully some other people will reply with some ideas.
