PSU FAN

BW86

Lifer
I've had the Antec SL350 PSU in my rig for some time now and out of nowhere the back fan stops spinning. I was just wondering if i need to know anything before I replace the fan. Something about the fan needing an equal or higher amp rating? Im not sure what fan i should get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A Lot of guys replace their PS fan with Panaflo L1A's to quiet them up a bit.
I replaces the 2 fans in my True 430 with a 92 mm Galaxy led fan and a Panaflo H1A (rear).
I went for similar specs to the stock fans since they are voltage regulated in my PS. (normally about 5v)

If your power supply regulates the fan I would make sure that the fan you pick will spin up below 7v. (some won't)

I have also read that you can get shocked pretty bad from power stored in the capacitors so be careful. I let mine sit a few days. Then I clipped the connectors and soldered the new fans to the original connectors (to the wires actually)

so i take it antec solders there fan connectors instead of using a 2pin? i didnt take my psu apart yet.

No not with mine.....
I just don't have any 2 pin connectors. Only 3 and 4 pin.
That's why the solder job.

i usually turn to svc.com for my cooling needs.

this is a popular replacement for psu fans because it's quiet and moves a decent amount of air.

why didnt u just crimp it? but anyway do u recommend any fans i should get for it from newegg or someother website? i was leaning toward either the Kingwin F-01B-3PIN or the Sunon KD1208PTB2

Are these fans fine?
I didn't crimp it cause I wanted a cleaner install. I installed a clear UV cover. So I soldered and heatshrinked it.

Anyway I wouldn't use fans that cheap. The Kingwin has a single ball bearing and Sunons I have used were as noisy as hell! Go for a Panaflo. They are reliable and are among the quietest fans around.

Agreed, Sunons just aren't geared toword low noise cooling, good fans otherwise however. Who knows about the Kingwins but odds are they just a re-badged cheapy.
