PSU fan question

BUTCH1

Lifer
Hello all, the fan in my PSU is starting to get really loud over
the last 3-4 days I think it's going to croak any time now, my
question is what size does a standard
350 watt PSU use??. Also any brands that sell good, quiet replacements?
Thanks in advance for any help...

any 80mm (8cm fan) can be used to replace the fan in a standard PSU --- some newer PSU's have 92mm or 120mm fans but I dont think your old one will.....
guess you can find one that meets your performance / noise needs 🙂

crack open the PSU to see how the fan is connected.... it may be soldered or plugged.... disconnect and rig up the new fan the same way

for safety's sake make sure the power has been turned off and the capacitors discharged (I hear a good way is to try and turn the computer on when the power plug has been pulled out)

OK, Thanks, I see newegg has a fairly big selection of 80mm fans
I'll pick one out tonight..

try measuring it thorugh the fan grille. it might use 92, or even 120mm if yuo bought a decent psu
