PSU fan partially obstructed by case

Hello,

I am building a new computer, but some of the parts I use are older ones, such as an ATX Antec case which is almost 10 years old. (which despite being old is very good).

This case came with a 350W PSU which had 2 small fans. I now replaced the PSU with a newer one that has one large fan at the bottom. Problem is that the case obstructs this fan a bit (see picture). Would this be a problem? Would it stop proposer ventilation of the PSU or create strange sounds?

I'm thinking if you have a Dremel handy just cut that little piece of metal outa there. Just my thought on it tho.

Edit: After further looking, I'm not quite sure where the 'bottom' of the case is. Is it where the brass standoff is? Kinda wondering if the PS is actually resting ON that piece of metal. Maybe take a picture that shows more of the case and where the PS sits in it.

In the photo the case is lying on the side. When upright the PSU is supposed to be resting on that piece of metal. But maybe the screws should be enough to keep the PSU without any further support? If thats the case then I will try to remove that piece of metal ... don't know how hard it will be as it is welded there.

I had another look and it would be very hard to cut that piece of metal without specialized tools because it is very thick. 🙁 (the metal on this case is thicker than newer cases I bought). Do you think it will create problems as it is. Obviously I would prefer to deal with this now before I put everything inside the case.

Ahhhh...ok. The PS would be resting on it then. If it were me, I'd remove MOST of the piece then, leaving just enough for the PS to rest on (like 1/2 inch or so). Again, that's just what I would do. I would prefer my PS fan NOT to be blocked.

Prolly not what you wanna hear, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it as is.

It should not be a problem, so just ignore it. In fact, some power supplies with single big fans like that have a baffle inside it that blocks a portion of the fan. See the last picture at the bottom of this page which is a review of a Corsair TX850. Lots (but not all) of power supplies have such a baffle.
