I'm trying to decide if it is a good decision to purchase an AMS 300-Watt ATX Model: CF-2029. I already have a case(but i'd really like to get a new one.),and all I would really actually need to do is purchase a PSU. Or like I said, I can go all out and buy the AMS 300-watt case instead.
My question is, should I buy the AMS case with the 300 watt PS or just get the PSU alone(thinking of an ANTEC PS)? I understand the ECS K7S5A PRO needs a quality PSU to operate correctly. I could puchase the AMS case for the same price, if not chaeaper than say an ANTEC PSU alone? However, I'm hesitant to get the AMS case because it has only 300-watts. I did some research on the PSU and this is what I found out.
+3.3v @ 14A
+5v @ 30A
So, the TCO would be 196.2 w.
I have read from null min. s/b 300 watts, but recommends a 350 watt PS. Has anyone had any personal issues with a low watt PSU's and the ECS mobo? I have read so many complaints with individuals not having a "quality" PSU. When people mean "quality" are they refering the wattage or the workmanship of the PSU(or a combination of both)? AMS is also on the "AMD recommended" list.
Thanks.
