Not sure about that particular MB, but my Abit IP-35E works fine with only a 4-pin connector.

It might be fine, but... better safe than sorry!

I would recommend a PSU with the 8-pin connector, especially if you plan on overclocking.

Don't be skimpy - you've just purchased a $250 motherboard!

I have no idea how they can advertise it as EPS12V? I thought EPS12V is something synonymous to 8-pin CPU power.

In any case, I wouldn't take a chance with that PSU if you're going to run a 780i board with it. Oh and a Q6600? Forget it.

lopri, thanks for pointing out the EPS12V thing, I had no idea thats what they called it.... i guess raidmax = dirty liars.. =P
thanks for the answers guys! I went back and read the customer reviews for that PSU and lots of people are running a setup like mine and they give it a positive review... and some of those customers actually have an even more power hungry setup than mine; makes me wanna stick with it?

also, there is an adapter that adapts 2 molex connector into one 4pin, should i go ahead and order one of those?

Yes, if you can get an adaptor for the "other" 4 pins of the connector, do so. The reason it's there is that CPUs and MB circuitry are demanding more current. Some (many?) setups will work without it, but it will enhance stability, especially under load conditions.

In virtually all cases, such a combination will work fine. However, given the generally terrible quality of Raidmax power supplies, my suggestion would be that you chunk that supply anyway and buy something better. And maybe seek advice in the Power Supplies forum.
