PSU Dimensions! Please Share!

Can everybody share the Length x Width x Depth (in inches) of their Power Supply Units and other information about their PSUs (brand / wattage)? I'm gathering information because I'm looking for a PSU that is within certain dimensions to fit my case! I'll submit my dimensions soon. The more people that post about their PSU dimensions and specs the better!

Thanks a lot

why....it would be easier for you to give us the demensions of your case and all other info...

trying to get a sticky going huh?

G-Y beat me to it... Dang! But there are a couple of new forms that I haven't seen at f-f.org. ATX short: .5 to 1" shorter than standard ATX. First seen by be in the Aspire X-Qpack and Chenming 118 (actually the same case). And the ATX long - first seen in the Zippy monster PSUs (600W and UP.) anywhere from 6" to nearly 9" long. All have the standard ~ 6x3.5" face at the rear panel. Normal ATX length (depth) is ~ 5.5". Quite a few new higher powered PSU are running ~ 6" deep: OCZ, Silverstone, etc. All the ATX PSUs I have here are standard length/depth (Fortron 250, Zippy 460, Fortron 400).

Hmmm... Similar measurements and descriptions seem to apply to another piece of standard equipment. 😉 .bh.

Reason I ask these crazy stupid questions is: On the customer reviews for several PSU's, I see people promoting them on the "big size [and quiet!]" .

For example, please have a look at the Xclio 450w. It looks standard but somebody posts about it being big, so it makes me nervous about buying one.

And again here, the Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w is noted on its largish size.

What do you think?

lol..

again as GY stated do your homework...
Go to the site where your buying rour PSU...most sites have direct links with the makers site or they also have the dimensions of what your getting right there on site usually listed under....
Manufacturers site-- XClio-- Size: 140(L)*150(W)*85(H) mm

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 --Size: 6.1"(L) x 5.9" (D) x 3.4" (H)

Goof Luck!!

Xclio is normal size, the SmartPower mentoned above is a bit wide and a bit long but not enough to make a diff in most cases. Width should be 5.9 to 6", height should be 3.4-3.5", depth should be ~5.5" (but that's the least important measureament of all as there is usally nothing in the way there.

Ok major problems. The Smartpower 500w didn't fit my case. So I "modded" it (with pliars and drill and hammer. But its an old sony that i'll be replacing someday...) So i unplugged my HD from the mobo to reach the PSU to mobo plug. I swap all plugs from my old PSU to my new PSU.. I power the PC up and it doesn't make it past the BIOS. A few messages appear including:

"Award Plug and play Bios extention...
Initializing plug and play cards...
PMP init complete...

Detecting Primary master: ST80020A (my hard drive)
Detecting Primary slave: none
Detecting Primary master: DVD rom
Detecing Primary slave: CD-Rom

Hardware Moniter found and error. Enter power setup menu for details

Press F1 to continue. Press F2 to enter setup"

And the computer won't respond to any keys (including F1 and F2). Crap.
