Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a new PSU for my system, which is as follows:

Q6600 G0 @ 3.0gHz
GA-P35-DS3L
8800GT
2x WD 400GB SATA HDDs
2x DVD-RW

So far I've narrowed it down to either a Corsair HX520 or an Antec NeoHE 550W. I also might be able to get a OCZ StealthXstream 600W for quite a good price, or even an Antec NeoHE 500W or Earthwatts 500W for a decent price.

I have two questions:

1) How good is the OCZ StealthXstream 600W in comparison with the Corsair and NeoHE 550W?
2) Would either of the 500W units be sufficient?

Thanks!

how about this

Corsair VX550

apparently you are looking at non-modular PSUs. The Corsair VX550 is more than a price/performance match for any of those you listed.

Well, I was hoping for a modular if possible. I'm only looking at those non-modular PSUs because I can get them at quite a good price.

Thanks for the heads-up on the VX550, maybe I'll decide on that!

He is looking for modular so i gave him a quality option with modular cables.

Really there is no real disadvantage to modular cables.

Seasonic is more expensive than the identical Corsairs. So get the 520HX from buy.com and don't forget cashback & 5% coupon/googlecheckout for the best price.

Corsair HX520 comes with really long cables IMO for the hard drives (I have a case that mounts the PSU on the bottom).

I ended up getting a 520HX off Buy.com for $70 (with Google Checkout and after rebate). That's a decent price, right?

Also, theAnimal: 430W would really be enough? I was kinda worried about the minimum wattage I need, even though I know it's the +12V rails that matter.

That's a very good price for the quality that you get. Good choice.

Wow, guess I've been overestimating what's really needed. I'm glad I got a good deal though!
