I have an Antec TruePower480. I'm going to sleev all my cables, but I'm wondering how many molex connections i really need.

It has the following cables:
2x molex
2x Molex + 1x floppy
3x Molex + 1x floppy
2x SATA power

I have molex connectors on two optical drives, a temp sensor, and one on my motherboard. I also have one floppy drive and one SATA hard disk.

I'm just wondering if there would be any reason to keep all of the excess connectors from my PSU? I could shorten the "2x molex" to a single molex, and just run that to my MoBo. I could also remove one of the floppy drive power leads and a molex or two.

Any opinions?

What time you got because it's past my bedtime :p

You guys are big with DIY but I would not chop them up. It's easy to do if the top panel is removable on your case. Just drill a couple of holes in the inner side panel and zip-tie them up at the very top out of the way of air flow. Not cutting up your cabling makes the unit easy to sell or use in a server type case later.

I install a brace across the top of the case that has holes drilled in it and use nylon clamps to bolt the bundeled wires up using 6-32 screws&nuts.

It's 2:52 in the afternoon here.

I've got a fairly generic case - i can't even fully remove the front, and definately not the top.

The case looks good, but it's not fun to work with.
