PSU Cable sleeving

Those of you who have done this what did you do with the floppy drive plug (besides cut it off and throw it away)? It doesn't look to hard to get the sleeving over the connector but the heatshrink tubing wont fit.

you can remove then reattach the plug. take the smallest screw driver and push in and bend the pins.

I tried that on the FDD connector but didnt work. The only place I could get anything in to push on was on the top of the connector.

Trust me, it can be done. I did my whole power supply with heatshrink and the works, looks freakin sweet now.

Wouldn't that spiral wrap be easier than heat shrink wrap? Don't have to remove the molex connectors and you don't need to heat it up.

Yeah, but spiral wrap looks like crap. I used split loom, which is much better than spiral, but heatshrink or nylon is even better than that.

Yep, that connector will come off. I did my whole PSU with the expandable sleeving they now have at SVC.

Where are you talking about prying? The rectangular openings on the top of the connector or where?

Also what did you do with the mobo connector? I dont use the P4 connector(s), (the two connectors that are left over) can I chop them off and wrap each wire with heat shrink and either leave hanging out or tuck them back into the PS? I have a LARGE window in the top of my case now so id rather not see the wires.

The ends of the wire I believe you have to push the little metal strips that are visable down and pull the wires out of the connector. My motherboard connector was already done at the factory by enermax. I would not advise cutting the P4 connectors off because someday you may sell it or go with a P4 setup and you would be kicking yourself then. You can hide them, just takes some patience. I suppose you could do the large mobo connector if you carefully labeled each wire before disassembly. Talk about time consuming though.

I dunno but I couldnt get mine to come out so I cut, wrapped and solderd the FDD connector. I just hacked off the P4 connector ill never run a P4. Unless I go insane and if that happens I can just buy a new PS.
