Psu and Mobo dead at same time? (Solved)

Is it within the realm of possibility that both these components go bad at the same time?

My computer suddenly turned off and wouldn't turn back on. Swapped out the psu for new one (Antec) still wouldn't boot, tried unplugging power then reset CMOS via jumper, unplugging all drives, also taking out the round watch looking battery then reseating it. No fans spinning, no beeps, when pressing the case power button. Only the back colorful LED by the I/O lights up when power is plugged in (no lights for old psu- Acbel).

Called the Mobo vendor (Asus z270f) and they said bring in the Mobo (disconnecting everything else).

I am a bit afraid when I bring it in it's some error on my diagonis part.

edit: SOLVED. motherboard guy was able to bend the socket pin back in place

It's certainly possible, and more likely with "cheap" PSUs / less likely with "quality" ones, with "protections", for a PSU failure to take out a mobo, or a portion of a mobo.

It's unfortunately, but it can and does happen.

just got a mobo replacement. fans spin but now this error. is it 100% the ram? i tried different slots. only plugged in power cpu ram.

Sigh at this rate RMA'ing part by part I am scared my whole PC is toast from this one PSU failure, well at least the case fans are spinning lol
