I bought a PSP Slim two weeks ago. I love the bloody thing, it's seriously some of the most fun I've had. Played through FF1, MLB 2k7, Daxter, and currently playing Jeanne D'arc. I love the unit itself and it has been a lot of fun.

My only two beefs and one is worrying me
The back silver ring on the UMD door scratches easily. But no biggie, I don't care too much for it.

The second I worry about a bit more. There is a crack forming in the lower right hand side of the screen. It's small, but it's there and it's noticeable if you're looking for it.

On one hand unless your looking for it it's not there, but I'm still wondering if this is common? will it keep growing? Anyone else with a slim with the same issue? I don't think I can return it at this point cause of the scratches on the back would be noticed even if the front crack isn't...

Thoughts?

Wow, never heard of a crack on a PSP slim or not. I would definately try and take it back. Look like a tension crack and those cracks will grow.

hmm a concern is it's been about 2.5 weeks which I think is in the return period for the retailer (who I hate). I bought it at Fry's since I had a store credit that took care of most of the cost of the PSP, and I'm think I have all the original packaging, but maybe not some of the plastic covers.

I looked at a regular psp (not slim) and it doesn't even seem possible since everything seems to be covered by something.

I just hope they don't hassle me too much, I don't want my money back, I just want a non broken PSP :(

Unfortunately, the newer slim seems to have inferior material quality (not build quality). I had the original PSP and it felt solid in my hands, and you could tell the plastic casing was of high quality. Not so much with the slim. Although the buttons are much improved, the casing feels a bit cheap, as well as the screen cover (not the LCD it self).

I guess they had to cut something out to make it slim. Same with the DS. The old one was a solid brick, the DS Lite is thinner but the plastic casing is flimsier. Better screen tho. :)
