PSP remote play is very cool!

So I know it's essentially RDP for consoles, but I'm impressed. Watching Top Gear via BBC iPlayer on my PSP in bed or anywhere around the house is very cool!

I need to test the external use. That will be interesting as I only have a 1Mb upload speed.

I thought that the PS3/PSP integration would be more prevalent. It's barely used and when it is, it's just gimmicky.

Well, the PSP came out before, not after, the PS3. They also serve entirely different markets. It's no surprise that the main connection between the two is one of server-client. Not sure what else you expected. Same thing with the Wii and NDS and Gamecube and GBA.

Well, it's not that bad (I'll assume, from your tone, you don't have either). I can watch all my movies on my WHS on my PSP, at home or when away, the PSP can start the PS3 from standby either locally or from the 'net, I can listen to my entire music collection, all my photos and the like, through it, too. It's pretty good, IMHO.

Yeah, try and watch a movie you purchased from the PSN store. 🙁

You assumed incorrectly.

DBZ - you say you have it streaming from WHS? Did you have to do anything special to do so? Color me intrigued at the moment. 🙂

As long as you can stream music, movies, etc from you WHS, which is very, very easy you can watch or listen to the media on the PSP using remote play.

The PSP can stream through it's RSS 2.0 feature and via the web browser. Works quite well. PSP Media Server and TVersity can do it.

Does anybody know any good PSP streaming software for Mac OS X?

Oh, so you're not really streaming from WHS. You have a PS3 in the middle, correct?

Correct, the PS3 is making the link to my WHS, which is on the same network, however as the PSP does Flash I am going to add a firebox server to my WHS and stream music direct, at least.

Okay, that's useless to me then. And here you got me all hot and bothered over nothing. 🙁

I may grab a psp for this feature. Getting to my media via a psp anywhere in the house via ps3ms seems very intriguing.
