Nice

t looks like Sony is hoping to get some extra mileage out of its existing portable library. The upcoming "PSP Remaster" program will take existing games, give them a new high-definition facelift, add support for the Dual Shock 3, in some cases 3D graphics, and then re-release the title on a Blu-ray disc.

That's not all, though! "Users will also be able to utilize the same save data from the original PSP game for the 'PSP Remaster' version and enjoy the game on the go with the PSP system and continue the game at home on a large TV screen using PS3," Sony explains. "Ad-hoc mode gameplay will also be supported through 'adhoc party for PlayStation Portable' application on the PS3 system."

...

There's a bunch of PSP titles I loved... this should be interesting.

I've been wanting Sony to do something like this for a while. Sure, I could just buy a PSP but the point is I don't want one. There are a bunch of PSP games I've wanted to check out, though, so hopefully they will become available through this program.

At the very least, Peace Walker better be one of them.

There is really no point in buying another PSP, considering NGP and that UMD is a dead format. So It's a good idea to have some of the games in PS3 remaster

Thank GOD.

There are tons of great PSP games I would prefer to play on the big screen than a portable device. And, the bump in graphics - yes please! I did buy the cable which would output to an HD screen, but it looked like total shit.

The God Of War games are a must. I'll take Syphon Filter as well. And, of course, the Valkyrie Chronicles sequels.

When Sony released the PSPGo, and did not provide a solution to play your already purchased games (on UMD), they fucked the pooch with a big rusty pole.

At least they have some business sense to re-release the games.

Nice, there have been a few PSP games that looked good, but not enough to get a PSP when I only game at home. I'd buy the Valkyria Chronicles sequels for sure.

Nice, hope it's not via disc-only though. I would hope they also offer them up for download.

When I was in a GameStop the other day I couldn't help noticing that the PSP had the best selection Japanese RPGs there. It would nice seeing some of these on the PlayStation 3, but unfortunately none of these games are likely to get an HD remake.

About damn time. Can't tell you how many times while browsing the PSN store I saw a PSP game I'd like to play if I could play it on my PS3.

I'd simply be happy with being able to play them on my PS3 so all these extras are just a bonus to me.

Lumines!

I wouldn't mind seeing the Mega Man games (Mega Man: Powered Up!, Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X) ported either... maybe I could finally beat the last Ice Man challenge if I had a real controller :hmm:.

Monster Hunter w/online multiplayer will be my first purchase. I really hope they offer the games via PSN instead of disc form.
