Is the only way to get mp3's on a PSP by using the USB cable or can the wifi transfer them?

You cannot use WiFi to transfer them with a stock firmware. You could also yank your memory stick out of the PSP and use a memory card reader, which might be fastest.

You can also hook up the PSP to your computer via USB and do it that way.
