I bought this psp for $30 from a friend who hadn't used it in months; he told me it had a cracked screen. I bought a screen off ebay, but I've only been able to turn the psp on once. I didn't know it would come with this extra turning on / power issue.
I'm just gonna quote myself for this one:
"Hello, I am not really sure what's wrong with my psp. It wont turn on...the green light comes on, though, and so does the charging light when I have a battery in and its plugged in."
"The screen is black, yes. no sound. I recently replaced the lcd screen, because it was cracked, but the problem was happening before I replaced it."
"I am 99% sure that it wont turn on because it was left sitting for many months with the battery plugged in, not being used. I have heard this does bad things to lithium ion batteries and sony psps in particular."
"I assure you it is not bricked. It turned on once a couple days ago. Also, the green light stays on indefinitely. No firmware changes were made."
Any suggestions? The one thing that worked to turn it on once was to leave it alone for a couple of days, and THEN try to turn it on. I forget if I had the battery in or not when it worked. I think I've messed up the battery now, but that doesn't really matter. I have two different ac adaptors (well one is a dc adaptor) to use on it.
