This thing is gonna be killer for my 6hr plane rides to/from Edmonton. I took the plunge. 2GB Sticks + movies + emus is greatness.

nintendo for life!

DS sucked ass... still no good games.. clunky controls and non implemented wireless standard.
PSP = Movie player (looks great btw)
PSP= MP3 Player (up to 2 gig mem cards are availible)

PSP= wireless gaming anywhere with anyone in the world... standard 802.11b that will connect to the internet and find games
PSP=24 super hot big name titles ever one with wireless capabilities...

Sony has already commented that the PSP will eventually have internet browser... camera and phone.. and possibly a hard drive in the future...

249 for a device that eliminates my 300+ dollar MP3 player and the need to carry my 600 dollar PDA around for data storage/internet and can play movies and games.. hell ya,,

Movies = UMD = Unsupported proprietary format
MP3s = MemoryStick = Very expensive proprietary format

Looks pretty slick as a gaming system, but I wouldn't drop $250 on it.

Well I just saw one that a co-worker bought. I saw the wipeout game and Spiderman. This thing is phenomenal. Its screen is VERY crisp and surprisingly big for the unit. It's a fingerprint magnet, as already mentioned, but it's awesome.

picked up the PSP this morning from Best Buy - I didn't feel like preordering with other stores, and just strolled into BB today.

Wipeout is great and still have Ridge Racer and DarkStalkers to play.

I'll probably snag one after the hardware has gone thru a few revisions. if Sony has taught me anything about their products, it's to not buy anything new they release

hey Skoorb,
For a car payment you can get yourself a PSP.
wooh! go nuts!

and play all those AWESOME games from the PS2, which are shinny games from the PS1.
WOOH!

no thanks.

I think you're confusing it with the nintendo portables and their re-re-re-^ 99-releasing old titles from the first nintendo after every version of their portable hits the market since their prior is missing something that should've been there in the first place (like, duh!, backlight).

Wow. Run-on sentence.

Mario 64
Super smash brothers
mario kart
mario party
eternal darkness
zelda
pokemon
wario
(all redone) re-re-re^99
but somehow they alhays hit a demographic that seems to enjoy them.

Twisted metal is fun
armored core is fun
Tokyo extreme racer is fun
(maybe God of War still tbd)
and I've run out of original fun games from sony.

but I can make quite a list of carbon copy games that sony seems to be great at churning out. go check out any eb or gamestop wall.

I went to BB with the intention of picking one up but, got spooked at the last minute....
I travel alot so it is a good fit for me as far as that goes I'm sure once I see one in action..I'll cave...
Just seems kinda pricey and none of the games except Lumines sparked my interest.

Well I bought advanced wars 2 for $9.99 instead...that will keep me entertained for awhile
