What PSP games are worth owning?

What multiplayer (with other systems) and online multiplayer games are popular?

Post your reviews with 1-5 rating. 1 being crap, 2 Bad, 3 good, 4 great and 5 being must have. Let's avoid listing bad games.

Try not to re-post a review of a title that someone else posted but give a quick 1-5 rating of that title the other person has posted. Let's see how big this list gets with titles PSP owners should be playing.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - 4

This game has lots of value at $19.99, especially if you are a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise and/or you liked Final Fantasy 7. It is somewhat of a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 and gives you a good backstory of what Zack, Sephiroth, Cloud, etc were doing before Final Fantasy VII. There are about 300 'missions' included in the game (which you can access from any point in the game), and they are a nice little treat to play on-the-go and don't really have time to sit down to an immersing story. The missions are fairly simple, just go into a dungeon, kill some monsters, repeat. As mundane as they can seem sometimes, they still net you experience and can yield some pretty good items. The only reason I wouldn't rate this a 5 "Must Have" game is because I know the JRPG style isn't for everyone, but if you like a good story or are interested in RPGs, it is definitely a must-have.

I killed Minerva. Twice.

God of War Chains of Olympus is a solid 4 as well IMO.

Disagea: afternoon of darkness - 4.5/5

Great strategy RPG with a funny story. Plus you can power-level to ridiculous levels if you want with the extra maps.

Lumines: The tetris of the PSP - 5/5

This is a great game if you enjoy games like tetris. You get a block of four smaller blocks that can be one of two colors. Your goal is to make as many blocks of four or more of the same color down during a single timeline (the time line is a line that goes across the screen eliminating any blocks that are complete). The timeline changes speed depending on the song as well as the blocks changing how fast they drop. This is all set to some pretty interesting music and results in some great addicting gameplay. You can have songs where the time line moves insanely slow but the blocks drop really fast and vice-versa. Overall it's one of my favorite games for the PSP that I take with me. Get the original Lumines over the Lumines 2 in my opinion.

Well now I know some titles to look for.....Might be worth dusting off the PSP or getting a PSP GO for.

Anyone play any PSP games online?

Personally I don't play any PSP games online although there are supposedly a few that are good for this. I do have a few more recommendations though:

MLB The Show 09 4/5 - Yes I know its multiplatform but its one of the better sports games for the PSP if you like baseball.

Yggdra Union - 4/5 - Good RPG/strategy game with some interesting twists

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters 5/5 - Very fun action/platforming game

Jeanne D'arc - 4/5
An SRPG loosely based on the story of Jeanne D'arc, but with major liberties taken (I mean giant). The game mechanics are solid with some unique parts, and the story is interesting to boot. I was surprised by this title. However, I felt it was a bit too easy.

Patapon - 4.5/5
A rhyth and strategy game combined. You control a group of little warriors, giving them commands via the way you beat your drums. The music is great, and the rhythm mechanics are solid. There are different types of warriors, plus different equipment you can give them. Also there are a bunch of commands, plus interesting bosses and minigames. The only downside is that the game is not that portable, requiring a good bit of attention while playing and hard to pause.

The only game I've beaten on PSP is God of War: Chains of Olympus

5/5, 10/10, whatever. I give it a perfect score.

It is *that* great!

5 - Lumines - The original. The sequels introduced some elements that don't work so hot.
4 - Gurumin - Great little adventure game
5 - Loco Roco 1/2 - Lots of fun, that soundtrack is like crack
5 - Patapon 1/2 - Not much of a portable game but it's damn fun anyways. Patapon 2 feels more like Patapon 1.5 unfortunately
4 - Monster Hunter 2/FU - You realllllllly have to enjoy the style of game though. Great for what it is.
4 - Jeanne D'Arc - Just awesome. Really well balanced SRPG.
4 - Portable Ops - Crap controls but I loved the story and how it explained more of Big Boss' story
5 - Portable Ops Plus - Great fun but hard to find people to play with
5 - God of War - Excellent game but very short
5 - Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins - Updated classic that's actually beatable
4 - Mega Man Plus - So cool but the unlocks get tedious after you beat the game. Playing as Protoman is fuckawesome
5 - Maverick Hunter X - Remake of Megaman X. Plays awesome, cool unlocks, lots of fun.
4 - Prinny - Fun but verrrrry hard

When they get released stateside:
5 - Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! - 8-bit Dungeon Keeper. Fucking AWESOME.
4 - Steambot Arena Battles - Decently fun mech combat

Import Only:
5 - Twinbee Portable/Salamander/Parodius - All great shooters but if you've played one you've played the others
4 - Nippon-no-Asoko-de - Very strange Map making game but a lot of fun once you get your bearings
5 - Ape Escape Cart Racer - Can't remember the exact name but the unlocked Ape cars are fucking awesome.
? - 30 Second RPG - Not out yet but the previews look cool as hell.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories - 3 - It's like the rest. It's fun.....However it's not as fun as Vice City since Ray Liotta is not in it.

Twisted Metal: Head On - 3 - It's Twisted Metal on your portable....No one seems to play it and multiplayer is the reason to own a Twisted Metal game. The single player game will kill some time. I mean Twisted Metal: Black is worth playing single player. So if you have some friends to play Head On with....It's worth it.
