PSP emulators with the 1.50 firmware?

I'd love to play some old NES games on my PSP, but all the emulators I've found say they only run on the 1.0 firmware. I would change my firmware to 1.0 (I don't give a shat about the warentee) but can't find any info on how this is done. The few blurbs I've see just say "it's not possible!"

are there any 1.50 compatible emulators? I wanna knock out Mike Tyson on my PSP at work!
