PSP: Buyer Beware

This unit, designed by Sony, the maker of the MiniDisc has created a device that is actually WORSE than the MiniDisc, the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP).

The operating system draws power faster than you can say blackjack.

Forget about playing all day like you can on competing portable game systems because the battery life will have you constantly recharging several times per day.

The games are the same boring nonsense. No real adventure games like you will find with Nintendo. How can you have fun when the games are boring?

The screen display is a disgrace. You can't tell what you are supposed to do because once you have been spoiled by the REMARKABLE Nintendo DS, everything else is only half the fun.

No touch screen. Only 1 screen. No built-in Mic, no character interraction, no cartridge. You have to load the games from a disc!

Disc Drives draw more power than cartridge specific games and THAT will draw more power from the pathetic battery performance.

There is no way in the world that the lemmings who actually buy this unit will not return in droves to exchange for the REMARKABLE Nintendo DS.

As a consumer, I cannot recommend this product to anyone for any reason whatsoever.

Buyer Beware.

lol... anyone ever browse sites looking at the "1/10" or "10/10" user ratings for products? I do sometimes looking for laughs at all the fanboys. I thought this one was pretty funny. 1/10 from cnet.com 😛

Definitely a biased review for sure. I picked up a PSP with the intentions of selling it, and decided to keep it. It's a pretty darn cool piece of hardware (no dead pixels too!). Considering it has replaceable batteries and can use flash memory, I think battery life concerns aren't too big a deal. Granted, UMD's will suck down batteries more than a cartridge, but I haven't found it to be a problem.

Well it is DS with 128MB or future capacities when they see fit to sell it. OR PSP with UMD with 1.8GB.

NO ONE would say the PSP screen is worse then the DS screen.

Won't fit in your pocket or last 10 hours and costs 10x more though 🙂

PSP on the other hand is a breakthrough in portable gaming.

😕

That review belongs on CNet 😀

The DS is far from a terrible system. It's actually pretty innovative. We'll have to see what Nintendo does with it in the coming months.
