wtf?

Drive memory stick prices up? I don't think so.

It is a Sony idea to get more people to get Sony stuff so they can 'share' their MS format. Me I'm fine as I have a few stuff that use MS. Not hat pricey imo but more pricey then CF though but I can live with that.

AND like ironcrotch has said they did a variety of tests with different settings on.

If you can game with max brightness and WIFI on for 2.75hrs that is pretty good imo.

The laptop manufactures also state higher times for when the laptop is basically being used to do simple office stuff. You certainly won't get the same time doing intensive stuff and max brightness. Most of the time it is half brightness.

doesn't matter very much to me.

honestly, I'm very rarely more than 3 hours away from an outlet. most of my portable game playing it done at work or at home, right next to outlets and rechargeable batteries.

EDIT: Does anybody know what the mass of the standard 3.6V 1800mAh PSP battery is?
Should be about 2 typical cell phone batteries.

OP has a nice non-misleading thread title.

SCREEN: Full brightness
AUDIO: Headphones, full volume
WIFI: OFF
UMD: Frequent
MEMORY STICK: No use

FINAL RESULTS:
5 hours, 9 minutes

What a misleading post too. That's on a low processor intensive game. In fact it was just alternating between a menu and a game demo. It was a 2D game too.

SCREEN: Full brightness
AUDIO: Speakers, full volume
WIFI: OFF
UMD: Low use
MEMORY STICK: No use

FINAL RESULTS:
3 hours, 32 minutes

This is playing ridge racers which is a 3d graphic intensive game. There have been reports of over 5 hours of play with the screen brightness at medium, which is plenty bright.

Yes, let me twist the crap out of my PSP so that the UMD pops out.

He didn't twist the crap out of ti, there are 2 other videos, in some, he just pushes down on up on the d-pad and triangle at the same time, and it goes flying.

Thats terrible. Haha, for some odd reason, I really want the PSP to fail miserably. I guess I want nintendo to keep the handheld market in its grasp, seeing as it is the last market they have a superlative portion of and they are an awesome company that I would like to see stay around for quite some time.

not bad, although it would do sony to maybe up the battery for north american units...tho i'm sure that will occur witin time anyways...

but ~3 hours with screen maxed, sound blasted, and constant game played with WIFI is pretty impressive

I am guessing there will be at least a 2400mh 3rd party battery out for this. I mean if they can do it to AA's thenI don;t see why they couldn't do it in a battery thats a third the size of the psp.

I think the battery life is decent already, it's probably better than some PDAs with wifi and screen at brightest setting...
