Very little reason for existing PSP users to upgrade, same old screen, same battery life as old PSP with default battery and no homebrew until it gets "unlocked". Also, the new TV-out is more a less a novelty feature for most users.

Are they seriously going with PSP 2000 for a name? Also in the pictures I've seen it doesn't look much smaller at all, but maybe it's more apparent in real life. How much do these things go for these days w/ a memory stick included?

PSP-2000 refers to the S/N (?). You can see on the box that it's just called a PSP.

And TV-out is the #1 reason I'm buying this despite already having one. I've been deliberately putting off all the PSP RPG's because I knew SOMETHING like this would come out.

I thought increased battery life was one of the selling points to this "redesign", alongside a slimmer body and the addition of tv-out?

I don't think anybody knows for sure yet, I've heard that the battery life is going to be increased, and I've also heard that it will match the old PSP in battery life. They went with a smaller battery due to the slim down, so now it's only 1200mah instead of 1800mah, 33% capacity reduction so I wouldn't be surprised if it only matched the old PSP. I've also heard they're going to release a new battery slot cover that will allow 1800mah batteries to fit into the slim PSP.

seeing how next to nobody had a problem getting the original PSP when it launched, I'd say nope, unless Sony only ships a very small #. PSP has died down, I don't think making it slightly smaller will cause a rush of people buying it the day it comes out.
