PSN Update 9.27.07

September 27, 2007 - Today is Thursday, and that means another update for the PlayStation Store. This week, PS3 gamers can download demos for Clive Barker's Jericho and NBA 2K8. Additionally, for all you MotorStorm fans out there, a new vehicle is available for purchase. Called the Castro Capitano, this new ride can be yours for $0.99. Also of note is a new Speed Master add-on for Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Of course, there are a few videogame and movie trailers to download as well, including videos for NBA 08, Eye of Judgment, Guitar Hero III, Iron Man and We Own the Night. Head on over and check out this new content for yourself, and check back next week for the next update.

Also, Ratchet and Clank has gone gold according to Insomniac.

Hey everyone, I thought I would hop on and give you a quick update on where we?re at with Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

I?m happy to report that we?ve gone gold! The game is finished and will hit a store near you on October 30. As some of you know, this is a week later than the Oct 23rd date stated previously, but the extra wait will be worth it. Insomniac has been hard at work squeezing every last detail, dance move and tool of destruction that we could fit onto a Blu-Ray disc (while leaving some room to fit Captain Qwark?s massive ego). This makes it the largest Ratchet & Clank experience ever.

I am also happy to report that we are wrapping up work on an updated and optimized version of our E3 demo (which is also available at Gamestop if you pre-order RCF) as I type this, and should be available via PSN in North America by October 11. The demo will be of Metropolis, the signature level in the Ratchet & Clank franchise. Well, it was the signature level? before we blew it to bits in this demo🙂

interested in a PS3 for $399?
Rumor is still going around about a $399 40gb PS3. And the FCC just confirmed a new unit, to be manufactured at a subsidiary of Asustek (and Asustek currently makes the 80gb PS3), however, Sony is forcing the FCC to keep mum on the details.

will be interesting to see what materializes though. keep an eye out for a price cut. 🙂

I have the gamestop demo and this game is just awesome. i love the environments and the graphics are unbelievable.

HOWEVER ....

there is a good amount of vsync tearing that I really ... REALLY hope is cleaned up in the final version. There was tearing in the Heavenly Sword demo, and word on the street is there is tearing in the final game as well (haven't played the final game).
