do the downloadable ps1 games get any enhancements, like better graphics or anything like that?

So FF7 can be played either on the PS3 or PSP?

Will there be separate purchases for PS3 and PSP? Or can I purchase it once and play it on either my PS3 or PSP...?

Wow, only $10 for FFVII? They could charge $30, make everyone on eBay look stupid, and still sell tons.

I'm not sure I'd say "make them look stupid". Your digital copy of FF7 has zero resale value, for one thing. :)

No, you can transfer the same copy over to PSP (provided that you have enough room). And it'll run fine.

Except that my black border, near-mint copy of Final Fantasy VII still has a ton of value, because it is a pretty rare and a tangible collector's item. Whereas a digital download has no value.

Try again!

Actually, it's worth $10...to everyone. I'll buy it just to keep my disc copy pristine, just like I did with Castlevania SOTN. Cheap insurance and no need to fumble with discs.

Also, try to get the digital download to work on a PSOne or PS2.

I rather download the psone games, even if I do have them already. That way I don't have to fumble for the disc and can launch the game at whim whenever I want to.

Media Go, the new file management software introduced at E3 will let you transfer content between your PC and PSP.

You can also download the game on a ps3 and then copy the game from the ps3 to the psp. You just need to connect the psp to the ps3 with a usb cable.

Make sure you have enough free space on your memory stick. The filesize is 1352 MB.

A black-bordered, near-mint copy of Final Fantasy VII is worth a lot of money because it is a collector's item...last I checked, around $100.

A digitally downloaded version of Final Fantasy VII is worth $0, because it is not a tangible good that can be resold.

It has a cost of $10 to purchase the digital copy, but once you do, it has no value.

Can you buy it on your PSP and transfer it to your PS3? My PS3 has been giving me problems when trying to access the PSN store lately.

Its value is dependent on the purchaser. For some, it could be worth more than $10. For others, less.

That is your opinion. Some people collect games. The fact of the matter is, I could sell my copy of Final Fantasy VII for $100 right now. How much can you sell your digitally downloaded copy for? You can't...and that's the point I was making in response to your "make people on eBay look stupid" comment.

I can also play my copy on any PSOne/PS2 and easily transfer my saves with a memory card.

You're right, the $10 purchase price is a cost. For someone without the discs, benefits (no longer need a $50+ disc copy to play the game) - $10 = $40+ saved or value.

For me the benefit is not having to fumble with discs and being able to put my disc copy away for safe keeping. It's hard to compute the value for me. ;)

I agree with what you are saying. I was just strictly speaking from a pure, monetary value perspective. There is definitely some perceived, personal value in the digital version.

Well, I can't sell my digital copy...because I don't have one. I have the discs, too. :p

I bought the game for $50 on eBay because I wanted to play it and own a copy of it. Considering I can re-download the digital copy (and never have to worry about scratching discs), buying it digitally is going to give me the exact same experience.

I guess I'm not much of a collector. I buy things to use, and try to save money in doing so. I think placing value in something "rare" that you can buy in a non-rare format for 1/10th the price is silly.

That, and why in the HELL would anyone want to sell FFVII??? I'd hold on to that gem.

Ah, so you were just angry about being "screwed" by someone on eBay. :p

I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy VII, so theoretically, I could sell my hard copy for $100 and if I found the urge to play it again (unlikely), I could buy it again for $10. Minus the $50 I paid for it when it first came out (so you didn't really get ripped off after all!), I could still make a profit. ;)

Yes as long as it is bought under the same PSN account.
