Grabbed the R&C demo. It's fricken huge. Not sure I liked it as much as the first game. Still not bad though.

Does anybody ever buy those premium themes? Sony puts out a pile of them week month but it seems a ripoff to pay $2 for some wallpaper and icons.

People buy them all the time. If there's a theme for a game I really like I'll buy it cus they're always nicer than the free ones.

I personally enjoyed the demo. It's a sample of the Clank gameplay. Basically a series of time puzzles and then a boss fight. Definitely much more in-depth gameplay than Clank sections in previous games.

My $5 Steam purchase of both of these seems like money well spent now.

IIRC, that's actually only half of the demo. Apparently they had to split it in two for it to be a reasonable size. There's a Ratchet demo coming as well.

If anyone is wondering, there's some free Dynamic themes on the UK/EU PSN. A wipeout and motorstorm one. They look pretty good actually.

All you need to do is create a european account and download the themel

ah it's only the clank gameplay in the demo?

that is understandable why he wouldn't like it as much. honestly, some of the parts with him in previous games are hit/miss to me. i mean i always enjoyed em, but the slowdown from all the action was kind of a downer to me.

either way, im purchasing this game next week 🙂

Hmm, I guess I just never really liked playing as Clank too much. I'm going to wait for the Ratchet demo. I like the team style gameplay where the two work together. Same reason I didn't enjoy Quest for Booty as much. Not that the game is bad or anything as it's looking vary good.

I've read so much at neogaf about the visual quality not being good in the Ratchet and Clank demo so I gave it a try and it seems fine. It does have a bit of a bright, washed out look to it though maybe thats my tv. The control and clank gameplay with the time puzzles are nice though I hope they don't go too far with them so that it gets old.

I've read lots of good reviews though they all say its more of the same. I don't mind since they don't really make lots of platformers on the 360/PS3. I'll pick it up this wednesday as I still have a $15 gift card from Toysrus.

The R&C demo looks terrible to me too. It's blurry and jagged. I don't think it's even running at 720P.

i just tried the r&c demo.

im liking it a lot! i like the puzzles with clank. his combat was kinda meh, but the puzzle part of his place was a lot of fun, i am diggin it.

graphics are fantastic as well.

definite day 1 purchase for me.

I have the first R&C tools of destruction but can't keep myself even playing to the end of level 1. I just get bored and turn it off. Never played any others and I dont even really know what kind of games they are.

Do you just shoot or is there a lot of platforming? Is there a story? I want to play it but for some reason I get tired of it super quick. Maybe the first level isn't representative of the rest of the game?

the story in r&c is great, and it is a VERY long game.

there is a lot of shooting and platforming. the fun comes when you get new weapons though and start to level them up.

yea i mean it is just a fun platformer imo, but it is not for everyone.

it really is not a challenging game and is rather easy, but i just enjoy the world and story of the series, as well as the weapons and stuff.

but now that i look back on it, TOD does start off pretty slow, especially with that "goo" world or whatever where you have the green globs of stuff everywhere.
