psd icons goin crazy

a friend of mine was doing research on skate parks in vancouver, and my firewall went crazy (blocked everything, latest zonealarm). I finally got my computer working again but all the icons for all my *.psd's are dos prompts, question marks and a bunch of weird stuff. I ran the latest norton and the latest adaware and nothing comes up. There has to be something here causing this. any ideas, please help

i just wanted to add that i have xp pro. i had sensitive material on my computer (work i did for the local university, masters program stuff for big brother, its all gone now (erased), for obvious reasons)
