PSAT/NMSQT

Anyone know what the cutoff was last year for the PSAT for NMSQT qualification? My LD debate/forensics coach set it up so I've got to take it wednesday and not saturday. In 9th grade, I got a 209 or a 208. Last year I got a 214, iirc. This year I've got a Ti-89 so I should breeze through the algebraic math section, but I believe I can expect at least a 215 this year, and probably more like a 220.

It depends on your state, IIRC. I remember I made semi-finalist in PA when my friend in DE was only a commended student with the same score. That was 3 years ago.

I think it varies by state. The cuttoff in Texas was about 217. Darn my 212 🙁 I still got commended, but c'mon. So close.

Which functions/features help the most in the TI-89? I take the SAT tomorrow, have an 89 as well 😛

basically the solve function is the most useful. It doesnt help you find answers, but it speed you up.

Ouch. Im taking it at Texas Tech University which is only a ten minute drive 😀

I checked the cutoff. I should be fine.

There's a legal but highly immoral program available for the TI-89 that basically gives you ownage on everything math related on the PSAT. I'm definitely not using it, but it's tempting. I'll just stand by my morals.

I got an 80 on the PSAT math with the TI-89. Ill be honest, it helped answer one or two questions that I could not have done without it.

But its allowed, so by all means use it if you can.
