PSAT Crunch time

Please post... Random tips, score predictions 😉, sites with free tips/tricks, etc...

I'm counting on you ATOT.

Also feel free to make predictions on what I'll actually get. It's out of 240, the lowest score is a 60, I believe.

Last year I got a 214 and the year before that I got a 209. I'm shooting for a 220. On the last practice exam I took (Yesterday) I got a 218.

So help me out. I'd like to get National Merit, and I want this to look good, as I'm shooting for high calibre universites.

Thanks ATOT.

I switched schools and moved states, at my old school it was freshman optional, junior and sophmore year required. So, I took it freshman and sophmore year there. Now I'm a junior and am taking it here.

There's a national merit competition, but other than that it's not that critical.

When it's SAT time, I'm going to be ballistic.

218 should be good enough to qualify.

EDIT: Depending on your state.

Yes, it's the state part. I'm in virginia, and apparently it's tough to get in here.

I'm very drug-sensitive... even like, a coke makes me feel disguisting, and coffee makes me throw up, especially now that I've got a nasty virus.

Do you have over-protective parents by any chance?

Meh, the PSAT isnt such a big deal. Im not studying. Ill focus when the SAT comes.

Yeah wtf is there to study 😕?

What are you gonna do memorize the dictionary?
Learn sentence structure of the english language, or figure out algebra and geometry overnight?

Just relax and take it.

Exactly. Ive taken Geometry and Algebra I and am about as prepared as a sophomore can be. What would I study?

$12 isn't too bad. My parent will pay it as long as it related to my education. Plus, Ive heard simply repeating the experience will help your later scores.

I actually got a list of words that commonly appear on the test and studied it for a few days before, and it helped me a lot. I was a national merit scholar finalist.

Then you are a poser. SAT's are supposed to be a measure of what you know, not what you can cram. I realize that "everyone" studies and crams, whatever. I am sure with enough practice and Kaplan courses and books, anyone can score 1600, but that would be lying to yourself and others. I have no problem with cramming or studying for nearly any other test, but the SAT's, I think, should be taken honestly.

Knowing Latin (or even Spanish/French) can help. Especially when you only need to recognize the root of the word to find its meaning.
