The combat in the Witcher 2 is quite possibly the best RPG combat I have seen. It has the combat mechanics Skyrim should have had. After playing TW2, the combat in Skyrim was probably my biggest disappointment in that game.

I guess i'm still getting used to it :p

Anyone know if there's new content in both Roche's as Iorveth's paths? I'm trying to decide which one I'll choose.

Nooooo! My preload didn't work with the steam version :( The girlfriend has left but I have to wait another hour or so for 11gb to download.

Been waiting for this for quite a while.

Guise, there is an issue while patching. It says some file is corrupted while applying the patch.. and this is the solution I found in an other site.

Download Part 1&2 again from here and then apply the patch. Hopefully, it should work.

Well, that totally sucked. There is a corrupt file in the download from GOG and it wouldn't install. For me and many more. There are instructions on the GOG Witcher 2 forum on how to deal with it. I just lost patience and uninstalled and am now redownloading the entire game. Corrupted the launcher and I didn't want to deal more problems. ninja'd.

I can confirm that this is working.

I bought the EE on Steam last night, but the game listing in my library doesn't note it being the enhanced edition. Should it?

When you open the launcher, it'll say The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition. I'm not sure how it's listed in the Steam library as I bought it off of GOG.

I can confirm that this is working.

One thing to add is that I tried to update through the launcher, but the launcher was messed up after redownloading the two parts. I had to update by manually running the patch's exe file.

Also, that new intro is pretty friggen amazing.

Downloading now, looking forward to replaying this for the 3rd time but as EE and on my latest built PC.

I've always found Witcher games to be fun to play.

Out of curiosity, would someone miss out if they played The Witcher 2 without playing the first one? I know it's not much of an issue for PC gamers, but since TW2 came out on the 360 today, I figured that I could mention it as a good RPG for console gamers that I know. The Witcher only came out on PC and recently the Mac.

Not really, although the early part of the game is much easier if you import your Witcher 1 character.

IMO, yes. TW1 was fantastic.. many feel the first 2 hours were boring and all.. but it is truly a game worthy of anyone's times.

You can definitely enjoy TW2 for sure, but it would be a shame if you missed out on the first one.
