Please place them on the counter or run them under warm water.

I know, I should have thought of this earlier, but if my stupidity helps just one person avoid a trip to the emergency room, it will be worth it.

Pics?

Another one!

8 stitches, if anyone wants to know.

Also don't use a knife to pry a screen out of frame to put storm windows up. Did the top of my finger like that.

No stitches for me though, you sissy ;)

Butter knife, good idea, I'll have to remember that.

I am fine, it is just a little sore. Typing is a pain in the butt!

No it didn't cut through the tendons or the bone, just an nasty gash.

god damn, that looks rediculously deep....

I've had a better one - dont be reading slashdot and play with bush trimming scissors/clippers in your hands. I cut thru the entire length of the skin of my index finger (across and down to the fat lay er and everything). I didn't even realized what happened til something felt ackwards

I was surprised at the amount of marinade that shot out of my finger, it was a real mess.
I didn't have hamburgers for lunch!

IF they came packed together, most decent suppliers will place a slice of wax paper between them.

If you packed them, then think of it as a lessen to now think before you pack.

u idiot. ;)

the method I use is bang the dull side of a butcher knife against it... and a hard countertop. they are a PITA though. Also try the microwave-then-knife if you are down to a few slabs.

They usually all come with wax paper in between, but they still are hard to seperate.
the best way is a butter knife and stab it furiously.

Bloody hell...!!

My last kitchen accident came ~15 years ago when I blew up a test tube attempting to distill water over a stove (use a damn CONDENSER n00b!!) and in the ensuing chaos a sizable chunk of glass went right into my sole.
