PSA:When naming planets try not to be a nerd.

I mean itmade me laugh at first but someday down the line some little kid is gonna be in school having to memorize this stuff. Then he is gonna have to ask his parents about the cheesy shoe that it was based off of. And lets face it the only folllowing it had was because of the chick and teh many adolecent male fantacies that accompanied it because they had never been outside in the real world before.
 
The names Xena and Gabrielle are nicknames that we have invented for these objects and are not going to be the official names. They were taken from the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess. The real name for Xena will depend on whether the International Astronomical Union confers planet status to Xena. We will then begin to think of a official name for Gabrielle!

isn't Xena just a temp name? I would have thought they'd stick to naming planets after Roman gods. There's plenty of them left...I'd like Vulcan personally.

Last family reunion we had he wasn't there (about 7-8 years ago?). That's when his career was successful though 😉

His parents were there but it was only a couple hour trip for them.

Assuming the universe in infinite, then the number of planets is infinite also. So, one could start naming planets using an infinity of monkeys with an infinity of typing machines
(not that the star naming seems different) 😀
