PSA: Top Gun IMAX/3D

Running through Wednesday night. Saw it tonight. Awesome! :biggrin:

Though...the lack of chemistry between Mav and Charlie was even worse in giant 3d...and the sexual tension between Iceman and Maverick was even more pronounced :awe: :hmm:

But seriously. Fighter jets, 80s musics, cliched lines...it was great!

The 3D was good? I don't see how it can be if it wasn't originally shot in 3D.

Some of the 3d previews they showed were godawful. Jurassic Park looked terrible, people 2 feet apart looked like they were 200 yards apart. Looked like a bunch of little cutouts being waved around in front of a screen. They used some restraint on the Top Gun conversion...

I would say still a bit gimmicky, but worked out pretty well, especially by the end as I got used to it, and with the restraint they showed.
