Impressive first round. I've been a Mavs fan since they drafted kidd (out of my beloved Cal) and a Warriors fan since I moved to CA in '90. Never would have I imagined in my wildest dreams that these two teams would meet in the first round of the playoffs under 1 v. 8 circumstances. With that said I was bit torn in the beginning of the series, but knew my home town team would give the Mavs a run for their money (with the NBA pool pick to prove it). With that said my allegiances lie with the W's.

Maybe next year Mav's fans, maybe next year.

Regardless if you're a Mavs or W's fans you've got to admit that this first round just might be the most intense first round matchup in recent history. Throw in the sub-plot lines between Nellie/Cuban Nellie/Johnson, Barkley/Bay Area as a fan of the game of basketball, you really couldn't ask for more.

With all that said, the next round should be interesting. The warriors have some time to rest, lets see if they have enough in the tank to give Houston or Utah a run for their money

Go Warriors

Sorry but there should only be one NBA thread relating to the playoffs.

The other GS thread snuck under the radar until it gained critical mass.

Baron's hammy will slow him down, they wont be the same team that played Dallas for a couple of reasons. The hammy, Don's grudge, for every peak there is a valley.

I think Houston would give the Warriors a better matchup. GS can simply outrun Houston. Utah(if they they can pull off this series) would be a much harder team for GS. Utah has a lot more scorers, and a lot more grit/muscle than Houston. They'll play the Warriors harder.

Meh. I lived in the Bay Area for nearly 8 years so I'll be a fairweather fan if I want to...

I agree. I mean Yao would be very tough for the Warriors to stop on offense. But they could just push it up and down the floor and make Yao come out to the 3 point line to defend and tire him out. Utah has a fairly small team and even Okur came come out and shoot the 3. Plus the Warriors have enough guys to throw at T-Mac to slow him down.

I'm a Houston native with 95% of my family in the Bay Area. I really enjoyed the Dallas/GS series simply because of the completely overratedness of the Mavs. Plus the Oakland fans are nuts. I love the character on the GS team as well. I am on the GS bandwagon until Houston pulls out their Game 7 win tomorrow (knock on wood).

Gratz to GS fans.

P.S. Baron Davis has the most amazing beard ever. He looks like King Leonidas.
