PSA: The U.S. Treasury no longer mints bills > $100

Every week I have idiot customers come into my branch with large checks for cashing and they ask for "large bills." As they see me counting the $100s, every week I'll get at least one genius who asks me "Do you have anything larger than that?"
No. I don't. No one does. Such a bill does not exist anymore, and has not existed, as far as I know, since before I was born (1985). If you are considering asking this particular question, please don't, as you will only make yourself look like an even bigger ass than you already are.
Thank you.

Tell your friends I know a guy who has some brand new $500 and $1000 bills 😉

EDIT: Btw, they actually stopped distributing them in 1969.

He could easily triple his money (or more) by selling them to a currency dealer.

Smiley = joke! I was talking about producing counterfeit bills.

Good thing, too. Because every jackass who is too afraid to have a bank account would try using them at places like gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores and department stores for 5-50 dollar purchases.

What about that guy who gave a Wendys cashier a $2000 bill with G.W.B.'s picture on it and got $1,995 in change?

Major shens. There wouldn't even be that much available because Wendy's incorporates time-locked safes with drops at least every hour.

not for the public anyways. doesn't the federal reserve use $1000 notes? grover cleveland is on them i think.

Thanks for the info, now I can actually tell these idiots when their magical larger bills stopped being created.
Your friend should definitely sell those bills to currency collectors (if they're real of course).

they don't EXIST anymore? maybe not printed anymore..

"Don't you have anything bigger?"

Something tells me your frustration with getting asked this question too much goes further than with just your customers.

It actually was a $200 bill the lady printed with W on the front. She used it at Walmart where she actually was given change for it, but she was caught soon afterwards.
