What a train wreck of a thread.

I love you, ATOT.

Well, let's take a peek at the facts here:

1) It's posted by a guy that tends to smack talk foreign cars over domestics, although says he likes the Mazdaspeed 3. Probably because Ford owns 33.9% of Mazda.

2) Although a couple posts up, he says he wanted to start a debate. No, that's completely inane of a remark to make when you put PSA in his title! An announcement is a STATEMENT not a question.

3) Everyone sees yet another SVT Cobra praises Mustangs thread, and it seems that everyone's had enough of it.

Personally, I don't really care much, but the attitude does get to me a bit. I tended to see him complain about others sinking to a low, but him doing so while sinking to that low himself. This thread was doomed from the start.

That reminds me of someone who claims because they have a black friend they cannot be a racist heh.

mein kampf starts with an exposition about how much hitler liked jews growing up.

Your first post was a bit insulting...

Lots of people find passion in cars, including myself.

No. Coilovers on a ford focus does not make it a sports car.

The Car and Driver article compared the Mustang to other sports cars that really are not about speed. And it finished ranked dead last and tied with the 350z for top 1/4 mile speed. And it costs 38k. For 38k I can buy several cars that will destroy the Mustang, like a Goat, Charger, or an Evo ( :) ). Hell for an extra 5-7 g's I can get a grand daddy of them all, a Vette. The base Mustang GT's are a good bang for the buck, but any of the Shelby's are just too damn slow and perform worse than comparable priced sports cars.

Why do anything that doesn't have a make you money then? Scratch biking, snowboarding, surfing, tennis, etc........Also, why don't you just get a box to live in with just a bed and a place to make food.

Dumbest comment ever.

No. Coilovers on a ford focus does not make it a sports car.

Not even the RS? ;)

Personally, I don't really care much, but the attitude does get to me a bit. I tended to see him complain about others sinking to a low, but him doing so while sinking to that low himself. This thread was doomed from the start.

1. No I never stated I hated foreign cars. Do I hate that everyone drives anonymous econoboxes? Yes. Do japanese cars have a lot to do with that. Yes. Would I hate a Ford Focus for the same reason. Yes. I have never said I hated foreign cars, but my troll paparazzi just likes to throw that out there because they lack debate skill and have to throw insults. Do I hate the Tundra? Yes. Why? Because of Toyota's attitude that they can march into the heart of pickup country and right away out produce American pickups and such. And, look what happened. I also hated it that everyone would bash SUV's and pickups, but when Toyota (the holy company or something to most fanboys) makes a V8 pickup it is praised for its power. I don't like that. I do indeed like fogign cars. FFS I own a hyundai sonata and a volvo 950 for DDers.

2. If you cannot get my playful attitude of the PSA that's your loss, as those who didn't click this thread to bash me caught on.

3. Good for you. I have owned 2 Cobras and I love them. People talk about how amazing their Civics and Corrollas are all the time here. Deal with it and don't clock the thread, because if you were sick of it, and truly just wanted to ignore me and not troll my boat down the river, you would have just not clicked the thread. Excuse me if the title was misleading though, I guess I could see how you might have thought this was a thread about a massive nose hair trimmer recall.
4. This thread was doomed from the start because of people like you. I tried to have a playful conversation about sports cars/muscle cars and my first responce is someone one second later saying STFU you're a jackass. So no, actually I would like to tell you to STFU and don't click the thread. I don't click threads about the latest hybrid.

Also, you are now on my ignore list.

:) Typical ATOT though, that's why I don't post here as much anymore. Too many immature kiddies and adults a like that need to be flushed. But it will only get worse with this new upgrade.

All the people that moan about 'the twisties' are the people that own BMWs and like to rev and challenge Corollas and Geos at the stop light in a straight line and never take their car to the kind of track they talk about. They only complain about the twisties when they get their ass kicked in a straight line after they started it.

And if you think a Terminator can't handle the twisties, you need to go test drive one and throw away your 1960s preconceptions of American cars. Independent rear and Brembos from the factory mean anything to you?

JZA80s and R34s are bad ass, but I wouldn't call them muscle cars.

It is meant to be loud and fast in a straight line and scream testosterone. It is not meant to go through the "twisties" (the hanndling is like a washer dial, I know), nor is it meant to be compared to a Cobalt SS on VIR, or be put in a sports car comparison with a Miata, ehmmm I mean an MX5 in C/D.

Does it bug me because I own a Mustang. Yes of course, but even if I didn't it would still bug me to see people b*tch about the interior (yes a good interior would be nice) but it is not meant to be a frilly sports car, and the interior on the new cars seem fine to me. C/D recently compared the Shelby GT to other sports cars and it beat every one in the 0-60 and 1/4, but it got last because of its handling and such. Of course, it is not really meant to be a track car, it is a strip car.

So what I am trying to say is wipe the sneers off your faces for those that go ewwwww, the mustang loses to such and such on this track.

Agree? I am not trying to start an argument or cover up any short fallings of a Mustang.

Not to mention the MX5 is not exactly the picture next to testosterone in the dictionary, in fact it is next to estrogen (I kid, I kid, it is an amazing handling car, but that's where I would buy an Exige).

:D

Giving the Mustang an independent rear suspension and hiring Porsche or Lotus to tune it would take care of any handling issues.

Top Gear or Clarkson compared the Mustang to a Lotus, an Exige I think, and it was oblvious that it an apple and potato comparison.

Personally I can not imagine buying a car designed in the last 20 years that has a solid rear axle.

Just in reply to all the people who talk smack about the V6 mustangs. The new S197 (05-07 Body) cars are running Low 12's, high 11's with the addition of a turbo kit, and the price is still under the cost of the GT.... A v6 running those times for sub $25k is very impressive. A few more k and you can upgrade the suspension and have a very well manered great handling car for a V6......

There is no replacement for a V8 in a MUSCLE car though!

And thats why I'm keeping my '03 and not really interested in the GT500. I'll keep my IRS, Manley H beams, and 400 lb weight difference. :D

My point proven. The Mustang still has a solid rear axle because it is cheaper, saves weight, and is better for straight line performance. Many Cobra owners have swapped out their IRS for a SRA so they don't need to worry about blowing the differential at the strip or getting a crap load of wheel hop.

I don't search you out. The sad part is i go into threads and see your berating and yelling at ppl more than i'd like to. you have seemingly never post in a thread that you weren't having a stupid argument w/ someone about. Go video tape urself liftin more cuz u have way too much aggression on this board

Please, just drive your mustang in peace instead of talk about it on here
