The date that you joined AT does not make you a n00b, nor does your post count IMO. Thanks for reading this post and for your time :beer:

Hi Viper!!:):) ::wave::

FYI all of you who are insulted by my insinuation in Zim's other thread that later join date makes you a n00b... what I should've said in that other thread is that people who have been here for longer tend to know the regular members better and are less likely to make assumptions about them. So when an older member insults or argues with another, their arguments tend to carry more weight because they know better who the hell they're talking about.

Conversely, I find that for newer members, at least when they're being jackasses or morons, their arguments carry less weight. As a result of not being around long enough, their insults towards other members are more likely to be based on assumptions or jumped to conclusions. That is the case for pretty much everybody who only knows me as TuffGirl and don't recall any of my posts as klee58, even though I've been a helpful and contributing member as klee58 for over 2 years.

At the same time, I think there are newer members who I wouldn't call n00bs. They're the ones who bother to read people's posts and reply intelligently, rather than in a prejudiced or ignorant manner or just reading whatever they "want to read."

Heh, I was going to flame you, but then I read your post and I am going to reply intelligently. ;)

Please don't take this as a personal attack or a flame directed towards anyone in particular.

Thanks for not lumping all us "noobs" into the same category. I've been guilty of a few dumb posts now and then, but I hope I've contributed a little as well.

I personally would be happy if there wasn't a post count/join date. That would hopefully eliminate some of this BS about people neffing or some of the "old timers" flaming newer people for posting supposed crap or whining about how ATOT was so much better a few years ago. I'm not saying everyone who's a lifer or has been on ATOT for longer than a few months does this, however.

Unless the mods want to enforce a draconian set of rules that basically stifles anything remotely resembling "crap", which I think would pretty much kill the fun factor of ATOT, we're just always going to have to sift the good stuff out of the chaff.

Also, I personally think you can't really know someone just from what they post on here. We've all heard jokes about how the hot 18-year old chick you're talking to is really a 40 year old bald guy, but that does have some ring of truth to it. I personally think that there are some people who seem to be cool on here (both new and old), but I don't think I would really know them unless I met them in real life. I hope that makes sense....

Anyway, that's just my $0.02. Again, I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular or trying to start a flamewar. Hope I at least made sense, even if you don't agree with me. :D

Lurking is no fun at all! It's much more fun to volunteer your two cents, even if nobody asks for it. Especially if it annoys FFM or notfred.
