People, for the most part, seem to be actually using the correct abbreviation now. But hey, if it means less people calling it "PCI-X", I'm all for it.

Because, say, 12 months ago - it was in my sig, and several others. But people are still calling it PCI-X, or worse, PCI - implying that you can just ram it into an older slot and vice versa.
(While I'm at it, it's "Voila" - not "Viola", "Walla", or any of the other bastardizations. )

Was that the guy who cut his 7800GTX to fit into an AGP slot?

Isn't that what NVIDIA called their PCIe FX series cards? A PCX 5700 was a PCIe FX 5700... IMO PCX really wouldn't have been a bad marketing term for PCIe. PCI Express is confusing to a lot of people.

Why?
You really need a new hobby if it's going to get you all worked up when people use the wrong computer terms. It happens millions of times a day and that won't change. Next week it'll be some other word, and another, and so on until the end of time. Consider a girlfriend-e upgrade to take your mind off this.
