IMPORTANT!!! THIS IS FOR AMD CPU'S ONLY!!!
Like others, my system was spontaneously rebooting since I installed SP3. I posted this as a reply in a couple of threads, but I think it's important and immediate enough for its own thread for those with this problem.

I found what appears to be a temporary work around on HP's site.
Their bulletin is a bit long and techy. The short version is:
1. Boot into Safe Mode.
2. Go to Windows\System32\Drivers.
3. Rename the file, Intelppm.sys anything else.
HP's example is xxxintelppm.syx, but anything will do. They also say you can just delete the file.
My machine has been stable since rebooting after applying the fix... So far, but only time will tell.
