PSA: Stop Signs are not optional (especially at blind intersections)

So there's this street near my house that has this blind intersection. See diagram here:

So I'm on my way to the barber, and I'm making a left onto the road with the two stop signs. People are known to not stop at these stop signs, and the fact that the flora makes it a blind intersection so that people coming from the bottom of the picture, and people coming from the angled street can't see a damn thing. So the people who live around here know that they have to come to a complete stop or risk getting creamed.

So there I am coming to a stop, and some lady comes barreling down the road doing at least 50MPH (speed limit btw is 30MPH on this road, it's in a residential neighborhood). She's coming from the bottom of the picture, so there is no way she can see if any cars are coming because of all the shrubs (about 10ft high), trees, and flowers. So she flys through the stop sign, sees me sitting there, swerves to the left, and almost drives straight through the fence and onto the railroad tracks. Oh it would've been sweet justice if she had wound up totalling her car and having to pay for property damage. But alas

I really wish something could be done about these idiotic drivers. Thankfully it wasn't someone from the neighborhood driving through this area, or some kids were in the street at the time.

Set up your own serveillance camera to catch stop sign runners, and send copies of the evidence to the traffic cops.

Complain to the city. Hopefully they will place a cop in the area to catch these idiots.

I've nearly been creamed many a time as well because of a similar setup near my house. A street coming from the main avenue interesects with my residential street. People are known to fly through there at 30 mph without stopping for the stop sign. The residential street has no stop sign, so I proceed and nearly get clobbered when some idiot doesn't stop.
